About Me
Hi, I’m Thatcher Poindexter, a Gameplay Designer with a strong technical foundation and a long-term focus on gameplay engineering. I hold an Associate of Applied Science in Game Development from Full Sail University and am currently completing a Bachelor of Science in Interactive Technology with a concentration in Game Design.

My primary focus is gameplay system implementation in Unreal Engine using Blueprints, where I build modular traversal and interaction systems, reusable progression logic, and mechanics refined through structured iteration. I’m particularly interested in how system structure, state flow, and implementation details influence player responsiveness, readability, and long-term maintainability.
In Roblox Studio, I’ve designed and implemented gameplay systems using Lua, strengthening my scripting fluency and reinforcing clean, scalable system design principles. This experience helped shape my understanding of how design intent translates into functional gameplay logic.

Beyond development, I’ve mentored students in programming and delivered a technical presentation for Memphis Hack Club on gameplay scripting and system structure. My background in robotics competition and academic honors reflects a disciplined, systems-oriented mindset.

I’m motivated by the intersection of design and engineering—building reliable gameplay systems today while continuing to deepen my technical expertise in Unreal Engine.
